Nancy and I had talked about taking a trip to China for several years. I had been to Beijing once before in 1993 to visit my parents but Nancy had never made the trip. We decided we ought to make the trip before Kent (Brian's Dad) retired or we would never get to go. Hence, we procured a baby sitter for the three girls, scheduled the flights, requisitioned the vacation time, and set off for our trip to China.
