Summer Swimming Fun!

Swimming Lessons

This summer I signed the girls up for two sets of swimming lesson at the Taylorsivlle pool .  Each set lasts two weeks with four days a week in the pool.

Emily LOVES the water!  She was so excited for swimming lessons this year.  Emily is currently at level Three and is improving her skills so she can go on to level Four .

During lessons when the other kids were with the teacher and Emily had to hang on to the side of the pool, she would often try to swim along the edge and she would go under water to see how long she could hold her breath.

Caroline was really afraid of doing a lot of things during her swimming lessons, but she surprised her mom on the last day of class by going down the water slide with her teacher.  Little by little she is overcoming her fear of the pool and soon she will be like her big sisters and then I won't be able to get her out of the water.  Caroline is in level One.  Anne said she hates the water slide because it's too scary.  Anne is in level 2 .

Swmming at the Allens...

The girls love it when aunt Lori calls and invites us over to the Allens for swimming.  They get their floaties on and think they can dive in the deep end all by themselves.  Anne, who is usually afraid, is getting bolder and loves to jump in the deep end.

Buddy loved the water and splashed and splashed to his heart's content in his daddy's arm .  After the sun went behind the trees it got pretty cold even though it was July so he wasn't able to be in the water too long.  Maybe next time Mommy will get him in earlier before it gets too cold.

Caroline was the timid one this day.  First she didn't want to get into the water at all, but after a half hour of dangling her feet and some persuading from Daddy she finally decided to get in.  The only problem was that Mommy forgot to bring Caroline's bathing suit, so Caroline had to play in the water in her underwear.  It's a good think you don't care about things like swimming in your underwear when you're only three.

Thanks Lori for inviting us over!

The two weeks of swimming lessons plus once or twice in the Allen's pool is about all the swimming the girls get each summer.  Maybe next year we'll get a family pass to the Taylorsville pool so the girls can go more frequently.
