Anne on Temple Square

Today we took our annual trip downtown to see the lights.  Lori and her kids met us at the 72nd South train station and we all rode Trax down to temple square.  I think the kids really like riding the train more than they like seeing the lights.

This year Bryan Allen met us downtown and we all cruised around temple square looking at the various lights and at the church plaza.

It was pretty cold this year compared to last year so we made our rounds rather quickly and headed back to the train station.  Last year we tried to stop at JB's for a hot chocolate but as soon as we walked in the door my kids were saying "I want chicken nuggets, I want french fries" so we ended up ordering a whole meal.  Plus I feel kind of embarrassed going into JB's having the hostess seat us and pass out menus and then only ordering "6 hot chocolates please".  Thus, this year we had a strict "no treats" policy and that seemed to work out well because by the time we finally got home it was bedtime.
